stop/start.

i was a lonely estate.

her parents would cut out paper dolls and leave them around the house
in an attempt to provide her with some sense of comfort.

she would get home from school 
and they would be scattered all over the place.

she would shrug off her backpack in the hallway 
and pick up all of the paper dolls that she could find

and then she would bring them up to the upstairs bathroom 
and put all of them in the tub

and then she would turn the water on as hot as it would go

there would be more paper dolls tomorrow 
and she would drown them again.
